Hidden
HIDDEN is a conceptual photography project that aims to illustrate and raise awareness that domestic and family violence also happens within the LGBTIQ community, something that isn't highlighted in mainstream media.
HIDDEN aims is to bring this hidden issue out into the light – because everybody is entitled to safety, and violence in any form in any community is never okay, and should never be tolerated.
The individuals participating in this photography project are acting a part as couples to illustrate the real-lives of LGBTIQ couples who are experiencing domestic and family violence.
We feel very proud to be able to shine the light on a very important issue in our community, and to be selected for 2014’s ‘Speak Out’ themed exhibition at Counihan Gallery’s annual Moreland Summer Show, showcasing the photographs of the first couple – alongside 50 other local artists.
Photographs exclusively shot on Nikon D810 and Elinchrom BRX 500/500.
Disclaimer:
The participants in this photography project are taking a stance against domestic and family violence, and have NOT necessarily experienced domestic and family violence themselves.
